Re-Brand, Re-New, Re-Launch!

Well it’s finally time! I’m so excited to share my new branding created by the incredibly talented Sally Balt of La Happy. I have never really officially branded my business before. So it was refreshing to sit down and pull together a look that I thought best represented me and my work. I’ve been a fan of Sally’s for some time and knew that she could help me bring my vision to life! Re-branding and trying to define yourself as an artist is an incredibly scary and yet, exciting experience. Trying to stay away from trends and be unique enough to stand out, all while trying to stay classic and timeless…and true to myself. In the end I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It feels like me, and it makes me smile every time I see it! Thank you Sally. Thank you for being an amazing listener and for pushing me out of my comfort zone. Thank you for helping me express me! You’re amazing!

The next step in this process was to obtain some updated imagery of myself….I was not excited about this part. I very much prefer to be on the other side of the lens and dreaded the idea of cheesy portraits of me holding my camera smiling like a goof, no thank you! So I decided to make it fun and to do things my own way. I called up my wedding photographer and good buddy KT Merry and asked when she was going to be on the west coast. We decided to meet in Sonoma at the beginning of September and do a fun lifestlye shoot. Thank you KT for always being such an inspiration! I always feel so comfortable and at ease in front of your lens. I could dislike how I look in an image and still love it because it was such a beautifully photographed image! Ha! Luckily though I did like how I looked and now have so many lovely images of myself that I’m thrilled to share with everyone. Thank you for helping me to express myself through your imagery and for being such a supportive and loving friend!

I followed my own advice that I give to all my clients when going into a photoshoot. If you’re uncomfortable in front of the camera then you need to set yourself up for success. Get a new outfit, get your hair and makeup done, get your nails done and plan ahead so you aren’t stressed the day of the shoot. It just so happens that my favorite hair and makeup artist, and all around fantastic lady, Jane Kim lives in San Francisco. Jane….girl…you made me feel so beautiful. I felt comfortable in my own skin and you kept me laughing and at ease all day. I can’t thank you enough! I also want to thank Miranda, my sister in law, for being my emotional support that day. The day wouldn’t have been nearly as fun if you hadn’t been by my side! Another big thank you to Melanie and Chris for letting me stay in their apartment even though they were both out of town! What a huge help that was. Especially at a time where I felt like more money was going out than in!! Thank you!

Thank you Justin and Jason of Creation-1 Interactive for helping me clean up my site and implement a few new design changes. You guys listened patiently to all my quirky ideas of what I wanted and made it happen! You’re the best!

Lastly, I want to thank all of you for sticking with me through this process. I haven’t blogged since September and haven’t been able to properly share with you much of my latest work. I’ve teased you with sneak peeks and features on other blogs, but now I can finally catch up and tell you all about the fun I had this year. All the love on social media means the world to me and pushes me to strive even higher and conquer even more goals. So thank you!
