Last fall I had a wonderful opportunity to work with Wedding Paper Divas to put together a styled photoshoot. Bonus was I would get to use their amazing paper products to help enhance the theme! I decided to photograph my dear friends and real life couple Brandon and Tyler. I wanted to do an engagement session and an engagement party and use vendors who I love and some whom I hadn’t had the chance to work with yet. I chose one of Wedding Paper Diva’s modern laser cut designs for the Save The Date. I loved that I could choose a custom color and wasn’t limited by just a few choices. I was able to select a deep Merlot that was a great contrast with all the other jewel tones we used for the party setup. The color also matched this beautiful Mrs. Box (in this case Mr. box!) that we used to hold a stunning rose gold band from Sholdt. Combined with some Ray Bans, and old film camera and the cutest German Shepherd around we had the makings of one adorable photoshoot. Sometimes, small touches can really enrich a session, whether it be real or styled.
A fun development since our photoshoot last fall is that Tyler and Brandon have since become engaged!!!! We like to joke that their engagement photos are already done…but I’ve convinced them we need to do another session;)
Below is the engagement session that was featured on Style Me Pretty back in November. I will blog part two, the engagement party next week. Enjoy!

In my last post I talked about Lacey and Steve’s Discovery Park pop up wedding here in Seattle. Five days after that super fun day we all hopped on a plane and flew to Mexico for wedding numero dos! They held their wedding at the beautiful resort Azul Fives in Playa Del Carmen. Megan Clark of Clutch Events was there to make sure the day went as planned as well as pull double duty as a bridesmaid…yes folks she is a multi tasking fiend! I loved getting the chance to photograph a wedding somewhere completely different than what I’m used to. The water, the palm trees, the cactus…I was in hog heaven with endless options for portrait locations. The wedding day was relaxed, intimate, and we were blessed with perfect weather. Honestly, it was dream! Destination weddings have a magical quality about them. Everyone becomes bonded in their shared love for the couple and recognize how special it is to be there to witness such an amazing day in their lives. Let’s just say that kind of amazing energy coupled with an incredible location makes my job very easy!
Thank you again Seattle Bride Magazine for featuring both of Lacey and Steve’s weddings! Also a huge heartfelt thank you to Lacey and Steve for inviting me to join in on this amazing adventure. Love you both!

One of the best parts about my job is getting to know my couples. How they met, how they got engaged, their hopes and dreams for their future as man and wife…it’s incredibly special. Then to document and experience that day with them is such a gift. It’s hard to walk away from a shared experience like that and not become friends! The day I met Lacey I knew we were going to be great pals. Both Lacey and Steve are incredibly kind and loving people. They are the friends you can count on to show up, to listen, to support you in whatever you need. They are first in line for any adventure, and they love nothing more than sharing those experiences with friends and family. Because for Lacey and Steve friends and family are one in the same. They make you feel like part of their family.
They first hired me to photograph their destination wedding in Mexico. I then became aware they were going to hold a small ceremony the weekend before here is Seattle for friends and family that couldn’t attend the big event in Mexico. This was going to be the “legal wedding” as to avoid any confusion with getting married in a different country. I of course jumped at the chance to document that day as well! So on a beautiful day last May these two said their I do’s in front of this incredible tree on a bluff overlooking the sound at Discovery Park. It was breathtaking. Their beloved miniature schnauzer Bentley was able to attend and stole the show with his crazy cute bow tie. After the ceremony we all headed back to Lacey and Steve’s back yard to toast the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Boyer!
Megan Clark with Clutch events helped Lacey and Steve plan both their wedding days seamlessly. She gives the same amount of care and attention to any wedding whether it’s a pop up wedding in Discovery Park or a 100+ guest wedding at a resort. She’s incredible! To hear her perspective on their big day check out her blog here.
Seattle Bride Magazine was kind enough to share both the Seattle and Mexico weddings on their blog last month. Thank you Seattle Bride!! Coming up next week I will share all my favorites from their stunning wedding in Mexico! Cheers!

Rose contacted me last summer about collaborating on a lifestyle shoot for her popular fashion blog The Haute Looks. After meeting with Rose I was incredibly impressed. Not only does she have great style but she has quite the following…and all just at 19! She has a fearlessness to her that I totally admire and wish I had when I was her age. We decided to shoot in downtown Seattle at places where Rose frequents. It also happened to be fleet week (which I had totally forgotten about) but it turned out to be an added bonus. The Sailors of course loved Rose and who can resist a guy in uniform! The thing I like most about Rose’s style is that she is able to take classic pieces and combine them with items that are on trend. The girl has great taste. I can only imagine what she will be doing five years from now!!
Also if you love fashion (who doesn’t really) be sure to follow Rose on her blog The Haute Looks!

Two days before Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing Jon and Susan in my hometown of Littleton, CO. Jon is a childhood friend of mine and when he asked if I would photograph his wedding I couldn’t have been more excited! Jon and Susan met while attending the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and I CAN’T WAIT for their wedding there this July!
I was thrilled when Jon mentioned he was going to be bringing Susan to Colorado for Christmas and decided to hop on a plane and fly to Denver to photograph their engagement session. We were given such a beautiful snowy day as our backdrop…a little cold…but so worth it! I have a friend who lives on a magical piece of property up Deer Creek Canyon and was incredibly thankful she allowed us to shoot up there. Jerry Lee her German Shepherd decided to join in on our fun, as well as a few looky-loo deer! Jon and Susan are such a great match…let’s just say I didn’t have to coach them on when to kiss and when to smile…they did lots of that all on their own.
I feel beyond lucky to call these two friends and I’m so humbled to document such a special time in their lives!
Here are a few of my favorites from their session and you can also check out their feature on Style Me Pretty here.
