Two days before Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing Jon and Susan in my hometown of Littleton, CO. Jon is a childhood friend of mine and when he asked if I would photograph his wedding I couldn’t have been more excited! Jon and Susan met while attending the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and I CAN’T WAIT for their wedding there this July!

I was thrilled when Jon mentioned he was going to be bringing Susan to Colorado for Christmas and decided to hop on a plane and fly to Denver to photograph their engagement session. We were given such a beautiful snowy day as our backdrop…a little cold…but so worth it! I have a friend who lives on a magical piece of property up Deer Creek Canyon and was incredibly thankful she allowed us to shoot up there. Jerry Lee her German Shepherd decided to join in on our fun, as well as a few looky-loo deer! Jon and Susan are such a great match…let’s just say I didn’t have to coach them on when to kiss and when to smile…they did lots of that all on their own.

I feel beyond lucky to call these two friends and I’m so humbled to document such a special time in their lives!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session and you can also check out their feature on Style Me Pretty here.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Kate and Chloe of Fat Cork at a local industry event in Seattle. We talked all things Champagne and how they are opening up Fat Cork’s tasting room to host bridal showers, bridesmaid luncheons, and bachelorette parties. I of course jumped at the chance to photograph the mock bridal shower they wanted to put on to help get the word out to all our fabulous Seattle Brides. Kate and Chloe did a lovely job. Those two sure know their stuff when it comes...

Sara and Stephen were a joy to work with from start to finish. They were so relaxed and trusting which for any photographer is a complete treat. The entire day felt very effortless. Nothing was overdone. From the stunning flowers by Fena Flowers, to the stacks of library books each individually covered with sparkly crate paper, to the adorable bridesmaids in their perfectly coordinated color palette. Some of my favorite details from the day were the lovely Kate Spade bangles Sara gave to each of her bridesmaids, the gorgeous wedding...

Sending letters in the mail is now quite the novelty. I don't know about you but I love receiving cards and little notes in the mail. It makes one feel extra special and very loved when someone takes the effort to hand write a sentiment and pay the postage to have you receive it via the postal service.  What better time of year to send someone a little love note than on Valentines Day. Krista of Prive Events and I thought the romantic notion of the handwritten mailed valentine would...

Starting in August every year I look forward to new and scrumptious peach recipes. Here in Seattle we go crazy for our Frog Hollow Farm peaches and Pence Farm peaches. They are truly like candy they are so sweet! This year I was inspired by a poached apricot recipe I saw in Martha Stewart Living. Poaching fruit in yummy Lillet is so easy and makes for an incredibly elegant dessert. Also, what dessert isn't better with a matching cocktail! There are endless cocktail possibilities with Lillet. I used the Rosè...

I love my adoptive hometown of Seattle. It’s one of the most beautiful cities I’ve lived in, and I’ve lived in a lot of places! It’s an easy place to call home and find daily inspiration.  Last month my sister Mallory and her friend Rachelle came out for a mini vacation from LA. I decided to take them on a perfect first day in Seattle and document it all along the way. Style Me Pretty Living was gracious enough to feature my images and a step by step guide I wrote to all the places I love. Thank you again to all the ladies at SMP! Seeing my work on your blog is always an honor!  Here are some of my favorite images from the day.
