My Holiday Card
When I was in San Francisco last September I ran across this incredible ribbon store in Laurel Heights called The Ribbonerie. They happened to carry a ribbon of my family tartan all the way from Edinburgh (MacKenzie..my maiden name)…which for me was super exciting! Needless to say I bought the whole roll. I adore the colors in our tartan; deep navy, green and red and decided that the ribbon would be the perfect jumping off point for my holiday card this year.
The Lovely Molly of En Fleur was nice enough to lend me her family’s mini horse…yes…that’s right… mini horse!!!…for an adorable photoshoot. Molly and her husband Josh modeled for me and Molly even made the stunning wreath that Mick was wearing. Mick (named after Mick Jagger) was the sweetest most lovable thing ever! Gosh he is a cutie! It took a little convincing for him to wear the wreath but once he warmed up to it he was striking poses left and right. Thank you Molly for making my Christmas card dreams come true!
Sally of La Happy was a huge help in deciding the direction of the design of the card. She had the beautiful letterpress cards printed for me and suggested the addition of a velvet navy ribbon. When Sally suggests something….you heed her suggestion!! They turned out so beautiful, thank you Sally for your vision!
Overall, this entire project from start to finish brought me so much joy, which is exactly what a holiday card should do. Bring lots of joy and lots of smiles. I hope my card did just that.
