We always pray and hope for gorgeous weather and venues that are light and airy so we can use our flash as little as possible. Details always photograph beautifully in natural light, but sometimes (most times) you have to make it work with the lighting you are given. Amanda and Stephen are two of the nicest people I know, and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph their wedding day. The entire day was fun and full of laughter. Amanda had some really fun details, and the wedding had a very young and hip vibe. It was this great contrast of a classic white church and funky tattoos and colored shoes wedding. Did I mention how much fun I had! Amanda was killin’ it in her dress and I wanted the bridal portraits to go on forever!

This wedding season so far has been full of beautiful details. I’ve seen everything this season from umbrellas to puppies, and I’m loving every second of it. I adore every detail of a wedding from the environment, the flowers, the rings, the shoes, the dress, the food, the drinks….I could go on and on. It’s my job to capture everything so that I can tell the story properly of each bride and groom’s wedding day. The flowers this season don’t disappoint. The florists of Seattle are amazing and I love being happily surprised by their amazing creations! Here is a collection of some of my favorite detail/environment shots from the season so far. Enjoy!
It was a perfect June day and Amy and Bryce were both cool as cucumbers. Both had an air of composure to them that almost made me unsettled. I’m so used to adapting to the stressful fast-paced schedule of a wedding day that I had to keep reminding myself that everything was good to go. It was a relaxing laid back day and the smell of fresh flowers and burning wood saturated the air. Amy and Bryce are truly best friends, they know each other so well they can communicate with just a glance or a smile. Amy, an avid gardener, wanted the wedding to have a very pacific northwest garden air to it, and I have to say she hit the mark! From the surrounding herb garden, the lavender accents, and the AMAZING aromas in the air it exuded everything wonderful and magical about the Pacific Northwest. Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA was the venue and boasts amazing Pacific Northwest wine and cuisine.
Congratulations Amy and Bryce it was an immense pleasure sharing in your wedding day, and I wish you all the best in love and life.

On one of my first weddings of the season I had the couple that every photographer dreams of having! Kristie and John are both laid back, genuine, secretly hilarious people, and I spent the whole day in awe of how in love they are. The day started off quiet and reserved, both were a little timid and a little nervous. As the day progressed however the dry humor and the laughter echoed through the halls of Phinney Ridge Presbyterian. My cheeks hurt by the time we got to the ceremony, and I wasn’t even the one getting my picture taken! Here are some of my favorite images of the day…….

If I cry at a wedding it is usually during the first look. It's an incredibly intimate special moment with just the bride and groom, and typically the grooms reactions are what do me in! The tears start flowing all around, and you can just feel the joy emanating. It's such a special feeling and there is an incredible energy that accompanies the first time a groom sees his bride.
