Usually the “getting ready” part of a wedding day gives me a clue as to how the day is going to go. It’s either a serene silence of ultimate relaxation, or it’s a giggle fest with every female member of the family. It’s always an interesting dynamic with women right before a wedding, there is usually lots of Champagne on hand:) I love shooting the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready, but most of all I love shooting all the fun details. The dress, the shoes, the jewelry, the makeup…..so fun. Here are some of my favorite detail images from my adventures in the mysterious land called the Bridal Suite.

Loch Ness (home of the Loch Ness Monster)

For the second installment of my travel series I decided to feature Scotland, my family’s homeland. We visited one of the MacKenzie Castles and the current Head of the MacKenzie Seat in Strathpeffer and then took the train into Edinburgh for a few days. This leg of our trip was truly magical because the scenery was just breathtaking, and then to be able to relate to it as being such a huge part of our heritage, and to share that with my family was really special.

I can't believe Charlie hasn't even been on this earth for a year and he already weighs over 70 pounds! I feel like it was just yesterday when he was sleeping in Justin's lap while I held his little paw between my fingers on our way home for the first time. We use to have to use the divider for the kennel so it would feel more cozy for him, now his ears pop out the top of the biggest kennel that you can get...

My mom and her whole side of the family are from the South, so needless to say magnolia trees have a certain nostalgia for us. For me they remind me of spending time in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana with all my extended family. Amazing memories from my childhood and crazy road trips through the back-country of Mississippi. Memories of visiting my second cousins in New Orleans before the devastation of Katrina, and having my Grandma and Aunt Kathy all to myself on the white sands of Seaside, FL. Most...

Ever since I had a camera in my hand I've been obsessed with taking pictures of trees. Here are a few of my favorite trees from some of my favorite places in the country and beyond. Happy Monday. Hampton Court, England and Breckenridge, CO Central Park, Manhattan and Strathpeffer, Scotland Colorado:) My new home...

One of my favorite places to go and roam is the Metropolitan Market which is this uber fabulous grocery store just a block from my house. The place is a food photographer's dream, especially their bakery department. I was meandering through the aisles yesterday and stumbled upon something I just had to have. The "Martha Stewart" in me couldn't resist. Easter Petifores...

Vashon Island, May 2009   "Having a strong desire or being successful does not mean that you are going to feel great all the time. No matter how enlightened I become, I will not be positive all the time. You have to understand the swing of the pendulum. It must swing back and forth. The only other alternative is to sit still in neutral, which is precisely what most people do." ~Thomas D. Willhite~...

Over the weekend I was trying to think up some fun new things to blog about. I've noticed on the blogs that I enjoy reading that they tend to do different themed series. So I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my favorite images that I've taken on my travels...

It's been an interesting, fun, and stressful couple of weeks. I'm looking to slow it down this weekend and get myself back on track, mentally and physically. So I'm just blogging a picture of me and my family, who I hope to spend some more quality time with this weekend:) Hope everyone enjoys a beautiful "spring weather" filled weekend! ...

Last week I posted a blog about a wonderful lady I met at a networking event named Kindra Reid. Kindra is a personal trainer who was looking for some new portraits and head shots for her business. We had a wonderful collaboration and ended up doing two shoots. The first being at her gym and the second being at Magnuson Park. Her fellow trainer and friend Donna came along as well, and we had a fun morning exploring the park:) Here are some of my favorites from the day. ...
